OUCH !!!

Dalton (aka Dolly) and his brother Dusty were found sitting on the side of the road by their Mom who had obviously been hit by a car.  Sadly, the rescuer couldn’t save their Mom but she new that Dolly needed to get to a vet ASAP because he too had apparently been hit by the car.

Dolly’s leg was so badly broken in several places that he couldn’t stand up to eat or use the litter box.  We immediately rushed Dolly to the vet who took one look at his x-rays showing multiple fractures and we all knew that we were in for a fight to save Dolly’s leg.   There was no guarantee that Dolly’s leg would heal or that he would even be able to keep his leg. 

Well, it’s been 6 weeks since that horrible day and Dolly’s gone through a surgery to straighten his little leg, several cast changes, trips to/from the vet for check-ups and multiple x-rays, but it has all paid off.  Dolly just went to the vet today and he got the all clear from his veterinarian.  He does have to learn to reuse his leg but the break itself has healed. 

As you can imagine the vet bills for Dalton have added up quickly, but one look at this adorable little boy and you know that he’s worth every penny.
